Our main goal with our blog and podcast is to join and really promote the amazing community that LOTRO has going for it. What better way to include everyone than to have you a part of our show!
We’d love to receive audio files from you to insert into the podcast. We’re looking for short clips that we can place between segments or at the end of our show. If you are interested in contributing, here are more specifics on what we are looking for:
- Most formats acceptable (mp3, wav, m4a)
- Must be good quality. We probably won’t air it if unintelligible or has too much scratchy audio noise.
- Remember to give yourself props! Include your name (or character’s name), the server your from and if you have a blog or site to promote, include it!
- These need to be short clips. Around 30 seconds is best.
- No profanity, vulgarity or other nastiness. This is a family show!
Examples of what you could submit:
- This is (Name) from (Blog) and you’re listening to A Casual Stroll to Mordor
- This is (Name) from (Server) and here is the Player News for the week.
- And now for the LOTRO News…
- This is (Name) and here is your main topic for the week
- You have been listening to A Casual Stroll to Mordor…
- Now for a special interview!
Be creative! We don’t want everyone to follow these examples, we want you to give your personal spin on it. Give us a clip while in character or use props for extra sounds. It doesn’t have to be funny; we just want them to be unique to you and your style. Submit your audio clips to podcast@casualstrolltomordor.com.

Thanks Osiran! Please don’t be intimidated by this request either. You don’t need to be a professional voice actor or anything to do this. We just thought this would be a good way to get people involved.

Here’s a harp clip I did myself:

I’m afraid its kind of low quality, recorded on a $19.99 USB microphone. And here’s a clip of some Aeolian harp sounds as well.

Not mine, (I think it was done with a wire strung harp). I’ve got some I can probably extract, but wind harp is a bit hard to record due to wind noise.
