Skirmish Rewards – Part 1: Cosmetic Clothing
One of the more fun rewards (or as Goldenstar says, the only rewards worth having) are the Cosmetic Clothing items that can be obtained from running Skirmishes. The rewards covered in this post can be purchased from the Cosmetics vendors located in all the Skirmish camps and vary from hauberks, to boots, to dresses, to tunic and pant combinations. In order to find them, set the “Filter by Profile” drop-down menu to read “Cosmetic Clothing” as seen in the picture above.
Each reward requires a combination of both regular Skirmish Marks and Campaign Marks. Campaign Marks, by design, drop off of both bosses and Lieutenants; however it has been stated that encounters “…are your primary source of campaign marks, though they won’t drop every time.” Also, only certain Skirmish instances drop certain Campaign Marks, so if you are going after a certain item it’s important that you are running the correct Skirmishes.
Most of these items are obtainable “Skirmish Mark-wise” after one or two runs depending on the bonus marks that you receive during the Skirmish (either from barter coins, encounters and daily quests). However, the Campaign Marks make obtaining an item a bit more challenging (or frustrating) due to their random drop nature. And even though running the same Skirmish over and over does get a bit tiring, the higher level and the farther along in Book 9 you are the more Skirmishes (up to three) you can run to get a certain Campaign Mark. I personally have only been running those that have Daily Quests available.

There is a thread on Turbine’s forums at http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=307154 but it hasn’t been updated in several days.

Very nice summary, thank you!
The entire system is a bit difficult, I always have to look up over and over again which item requires which marks.
Some run skirmishes for the upgrade scrolls, 1900 Skirmish Marks are required, IIRC.

If you have no desire for cosmetic items, you can redeem your marks at the Curiosities vendor from Skirmish Marks. I know for sure the Eruilan Marks give 25 Skirmish Marks a pop. Idk if all give the same.

Oh thanks, Harperella, I didn’t think that mental image could be worse.

Could be worse. At least it wasn’t an upskirt shot.
