This is a new more general mmo game podcast appearing on the scene is the Multiverse podcast. I thought you all may be interested in their latest podcast, Episode 2 where they have some topics that we’ve been discussing quite a bit lately.
A good section of time was talking about the new LOTRO expansion, Siege of Mirkwood. They have a current LOTRO player and a past LOTRO player discussing the changes they’ve seen with this expansion and if they feel they are good or not.
Also along the same vein as my MSORPG post from yesterday, they discuss Classic vs Modern design of MMOs these days. They take almost the completely opposite stance of my opinions in that they miss the days of working “harder” for loot and achievements. It’s a pretty good counterpoint to my post about loving being able to solo when I want to.
Chris from Game by Night listed us as his blog of the week on the show which we were very flattered by. Why not give them a listen!

Thanks for the support Goldenstar! We’re big fans of your blog and show, so we’re happy to send some support your way when we can.
As far as the old school thing, I do tend to fall more on the “way back machine” side of things. But, I’m in support of accessibility too. I’d never want to go all the way back to the EQ1 days of waiting days for mob spawns or anything like that. I’m actually very happy with the medium LotRO has reached. To hear me talk about it with Ferrel though makes me sound like an old fogey, lol.
On a side note, I just paid for a transfer back to Landroval to join up with your kinship! I’d actually considered joining back in the day but Shadow Company scooped me up before I knew what I was missing. I should be over come next Thursday or so though. I’m looking forward to it
