This week we are busy losing a lot to the dwarf and hobbit races with the Summer Festival. Merric is working on his burglar and was able to level it up to 33 this week. Goldenstar is creating paintings for Kia to hang up in client’s houses she’s redecorating.

Heya Merric. Thanks to u and Goldenstar I often see myself on my daily subway ride listening to your podcasts which I truly enjoy. Keep up the good work.
In the last podcast though, I believe Kia was mistaken when you asked which horse had a red thing around and such. She said the Moors horse but I believe the horse you were refering to is the Dundedain War-Horse, which you get from completing the Shadows of Angmar Meta-Deed (Carn Dum, Urugarth, Barad Gularan, Rift and Helegrod deeds).
Attached are 3 screenshots of the horse.
Keep up the good work.

Could have been worse. Merric could have wanted to use Rick Astley. Then he would have been the most hated hobbit in LOTRO.

“Never gunna give you up, never gunna say good-bye, never guuna make you cry and desert you . . . ”
I like that horse, but for obvious reasons I’ve always called it the ballet horse. All it needs is a tu-tu and it would be set.

just to clarify
1 vitality = 3 morale points for all classes except wardens and guardians
1 vitality = 5 morale points for wardens and guardians
thank you for your blog and keep those podcasts coming

I thought champs got 5 as well.
July 13, 2010 at 8:35 pm
nope, only wardens and guardians, champs get the standard 3 morale per vitality point

To put in my two cents, when I first heard about selling rep horses in the LOTRO store I was really upset. That’s the only bragging rights item we soloers can earn! Now it’s being cheapened to something anybody who wants to spend the money can buy.
This store offering makes me one sad puppy.

I kind of agree with Mithralmistress, the amount of effort some people put into acquiring those horses only to find out people will be able to purchase them. Perhaps they will be just as difficult to acquire through the store though, time will tell….
@Azz – champs get a boost to their morale (I believe it’s 700 or 750) if they trait martial champion (tanking line).

So, I’ve gone back and listened to the DDOcast episodes from when DDO went F2P. I highly recommend it, as the events then and now are almost identical. I’ve also been playing DDO as a sort of test drive for LOTRO going F2P.
In DDO, you get tubine points(TP) for earning favor with different factions. The points awarded are small, usually between 25-100. Favor existed before F2P in DDO, and they didn’t give TP retroactively when they switched either. One theory is that they didn’ want to have established players granted enormous amounts of TP at launch, and have them drop down to premium and just use those TP to buy all the content they wanted. Regardless, when we farmed those deeds in the past we were rewarded under one system. Now that the system is changing, all future deeds will rewarded differently. As long as they are not taking away rewards already earned, we don’t really have any reason to complain.
Anyways, my guess is that Turbine will echo this system, and we’ll get TP in addition to the current rewards when completing deeds.

There is no indication yet that the rep requirements have been eliminated for the faction horses. That little bit of text beside the mount photo has the word “MORE” at the bottom. We do not yet know what it says, but it could be that that’s where the rep requirement is stated. Or maybe I’m completely mistaken. Anyway, we don’t have all the facts yet.

That is an excellent point. Rep is required just an alternative way of buying.
