Hello Merric and Goldenstar,

I have been playing LOTRO on and off since beta started, and now with the game going free-to-play, i would like to play more often and get some of my friends playing the game too.

The problem is that I live in Australia and the expansions were never released on disc here so i was forced to download them.

As Australia’s internet hasn’t been upgraded for 5000 years, it is very hard for my friends to download a game of this size.

Is there a way to transfer the game files i have downloaded and share to my friends? or will they have to suffer through a long download just like me?

Thanks for reading, Love the Show!

P.S.

Is there a server which most Australians use?

Hi,

Just wanted to say that as an older player (late 40′s), your podcast have been greatly beneficial. I just started on the server Elendilmir cause it was the 1st on the list. Created a hunter lvl 20 Soyel and a Burglar lvl 18 Pijo and so far am enjoying the game largely due to your guides. I tend to have a wierd schedule so only play a few hours when I can log on and let me tell ya, I would be lost crafting if it weren’t for you both.

Now have your wife smack you, kiss the baby and get back to podcasts and guides. TY

Btw am VIP and will possible try Landorval (sp) ty again!

Chris:

Hey guys :

I just came across your podcast and I’m enjoying it very much. I played LotRo when it launched and enjoyed it for a couple of months before going on a long hiatus. I dusted off my account in anticipation for the

F2P coming soon.

I assume there will be a lot of folks coming back to the game as well as a lot of new players. I think it would be great if you could do a “welcome or welcome back” episode to discuss the basics for us noobs.

  • Class discussions
  • which solos well
  • which does not.
  • Crafting basics Ect….

I was a hybrid class in WoW (a Druid) and I am hoping LotRo has a class similar since I enjoy the variety. Many thanks and keep up

the good work.

-Chris

Hi guys,

First and foremost, I love the show; you guys show Lotro a in warm ,inviting way and not to overtechinal in explaining most things in terms of game play. I am a fairly new player to Lotro, I played a couple years ago and got my (then) hunter main up to about 25 before going back to WOW. But now with the introduction of free to play as well as some leveling revamps, I am greatly looking forward to my time in Middle Earth. The problem however is that I out leveling my warden in the Midwater Marshes right out side of Bree about a week and an half ago; and my computer totally froze up and have not been able to play. Mainly because my wife will not let me expedite the repairs, but I digress. Thanks for all you do and I look forward to see you all in game, at some point.

The quests related to leveling the Gathering proffesions is nothing more than talking to a NPC to get a book to read…..unless they’ve changed it in the last couple of versions of Beta. ;)

    @Elendilmir

Im sure the f2p client will be given away with magazines so this might be your best bet to avoid having to download and be able to share…

Great podcast! Glad to hear my achievements make it on the show. I did make it out of Moria and entered Lothlorien. I also discovered the rep-gated areas there lol! Those archers didn’t get me the first time, but I didn’t escape the second time around. The Moria entrance from the Lothlorien side looks real nice! As for Durin’s Bane, he was in a different part of Moria, not along the path the fellowship took.

    Some additional comments:
-Resource gathering quests only involve reading a book, which you can get from any “Supplier” NPC I believe?
-4 new servers is rather nice! I’ll be rolling on Riddermark (Yajard as my main I hope).
-Critical successes start right after you complete the first anvil in a tier and complete the associated quest. I did not notice any difference between completing the 2nd anvil compared to working on the 2nd anvil. So, essentially, you have the same crit rate for a tier after you move past the 1st anvil and quest.

RE: Pristine Hides. They best place I’ve found to farm them is in Evendim. There is a bear den just east of Ost Forod. There are plenty of bears to farm, and it doesn’t interfere with anyone’s quests.

There are lots of Pristine hides available off the Wargs in Angmar, east of Aughaire, and Misty Mountains, especially in the area near the Northern High Pass.
