Today while browsing the world wide interwebs I found myself watching a video of a Russian LOTRO Server. The video was titled “LOTRO, Creeps in Forochel” and can be viewed on theLOTRONetwork.com or on YouTube. The video titled immediately threw up a flag for me. Lets go over a little back story here. Forochel is the region just north of Evendim.

Today, Orion posted a much-anticipated (at least by me!) developer diary concerning his revisions of the rest of Volume 1 that will be released with Volume 3, Book 1. Using scenes from The Lord of the Rings such as “…Aragorn’s stand against the Nazgûl, Boromir’s stand against the Uruk-hai, Sam’s resolve both against Shelob and in Cirith Ungo” Orion wishes the players to have an “epic” journey and a story through LOTRO that they can experience.

Ferrel of Epic Slant has a good article summarizing his thoughts on the use of raising the level cap of their games and how it is unnecessary tactic to add value to a game that is past its prime. Ferrel makes some very good points, and operates off of the opinion that level caps are used for two reasons.
