Doug Adams, author of the book The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films will be in Chicago December 15th for a book signing at the Borders Books in Lincoln Park, Illinois.

I picked up a book several months back that has offered quite a bit of insight to the LOTR Trilogy as I read them. This book is The Lord of the Rings: A Reader’s Companion by Christina Scull and Wayne G. Hammond. So why do I like it?

I found this article on Wired.com and thought it was so cute! An 11 year-old boy had to read a fantasy book for a school book report and decided he’d make Bag End as a cake as well.

Just released to the iTunes App store today is the new app called “The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien” by vPoint. The app is quite simply the entire novel of “The Hobbit” to be read anytime you wish on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

I learned about this book from “Once Upon A Hobbit” blog (which you really should be reading anyway) that is called “Letters from Father Christmas” written by Tolkien for his children.

The Complete Guide to Middle-Earth by Robert Foster isn’t a story you would cuddle up on the couch and read. This is more a reference book. A sort of encyclopedia of Tolkien’s world and the reason I am recommending it is because I believe it is also a fantastic reference for Lord of the Rings Online!

Merric and I have been working with Brynulf to try and complete Volume One. Merric and I were stuck on the last part of book 7 and our friends Kymli and Smashey helped us finish that part. We started on Book 8 with Brynor. We were able do make it through chapter 5 with just the three of us (Brynulf is level 60 which helps a lot).

For whatever reason, I have never read the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I’ve seen the animated movie and the live action movies, as well as having read The Hobbit several times.
