In today’s Dev Diary on crafting in the Rise of Isengard expansion, we get a look at the new tier of crafting called “Westfold”. So what is some of the information that is divulged to us?

Isengard heralds in not only a new tier of crafting, but also a new tier of reputation for Crafting Guilds. In this article, we take a look at a way for players to start working towards the reputation requirements.

The following items are on sale from July 22nd – July 28th, 2011. Turbine sales run from midnight to midnight eastern.

For each of the main professions in LOTRO (Cook, Jeweller, Metalsmith, Scholar, Tailor, Weaponsmith and Woodworker) there is at least one faction that will grant reputation in exchange for certain items they’ve requested.

These new quests are part of the changes made to the crafting system with the Echoes of the Dead Update we received in March. Having tested these out for every vocation, I have to say, I greatly prefer them over the previous method.

Unfortunately our good friend Azz was unable to join us for PAX East this year and Kiarane devised a way he could be with us.

Have you ever wanted to have a crafter of every vocation? Well, LOTRO Wiki has a great suggestion on what to do.

I love crafting; I really do. So I was excited to see that there are some changes coming with Update 2, Echoes of the Dead.

Last week during our live broadcast we had a suggestion for a poll from Crell asking about crafting guilds.

Using the rules the author of the article had created I began to alter the words in the manner he described to create the other tenses. For instance, we know Dwarf is the word Khuzd, and the plural is Khazad, or Dwarves. So, looking at axe, we have the singular, burk, and the plural possessive baruk “axes of”. To create the plural of axe we can follow the pattern of the word dwarf, and assume axes must be barak.

Lore-masters are getting a lot of love with the November update. In addition to combat changes, they’re also getting pretty new cosmetics for their in-combat pets!

Today, Turbine released a Developer Diary concerning Class Consumables. What are class consumables? Well there are new items that “…were designed based on user feedback to amplify existing abilities or to compensate for a class weakness.”

Today, Turbine’s Crafting Team released a Developer Diary focusing on the upcoming changes that we can expect in the November content update. There appears to have been a lot of updates in the form of “polish”, improving Farmers, creating new recipes, and in creating (for better or worse) store items.

“Tell the Community Team” is where Turbine asks for the players to give them direct and specific feedback about a specific topic.

Previously, I have explained how to gather crafting materials. Now, I will explain where to find the crafting materials needed for each tier.

Before you can begin crafting anything, you must first open the Crafting Panel. Of course, what you see on your crafting panel is directly related to which vocation you have chosen. However, beyond specific professions and recipes available to you, each vocation’s crafting panel is the same. What you make will be different, but how you make it will be determined in the same ways.

Now that you’ve chosen a crafting vocation, it’s time to get to work! Of course, before you can start making weapons and armour and jewelry and food, you’re going to need some basic materials.

Recently I’ve seen a lot of questions in the advice chat channels about crafting. How do I get started? What profession is best for my class? Where do I go to learn a craft? How do I advance my skill? What can I make with which profession?

There’s a new note appearing on the LOTRO launcher concerning the crafting consignment quests that we wanted our readers to be aware of.
