A Casual Stroll to Mordor

This Friday the Thorin’s Hall Reputation Goat will be added to the LOTRO Store.

The patch notes for December 6th were quite interesting to me for this one particular line:

“We have added a new mount to the Kindred barterer for the Malledhrim (Mirkwood Offensive). The cost for the mount is the same as the previous Mirkwood mount.”

Starting tomorrow, the Mathom Society Mount will be available in the LOTRO store plus other weekly sales!

Recent game updates and store deals have revived the not-so-old question of whether or not reputation deeds should be in the store and what to expect from store exclusive mounts. So here are my thoughts on the matter.

Fast Mounts at Level 6? Festival and Faction mounts removed from the store? An interesting look at mounts in the Beta as we creep closer to Free-to-Play’s release.

We’ve seen several screenshots from Massively and Mordor or Bust showing that faction mounts are available (for now anyway) in the Beta Store. Our question this week is asking you what you think about this situation should it go live.

This week we are busy losing a lot to the dwarf and hobbit races with the Summer Festival. Merric is working on his burglar and was able to level it up to 33 this week. Goldenstar is creating paintings for Kia to hang up in client’s houses she’s redecorating.

I have been waiting and waiting for my chance to get my Blue Roan pony! She is even more beautiful than I imagined. I’ll have to think of a good name for her (her default name was Chase).

LOTRO game servers will be down on Wednesday, April 21nd from 6am – 10am EDT (-5 GMT).

The official announcement hasn’t been posted yet but Sapience has posted the scoop on what is happening with the Spring Festival and the pesky festival horse vendor, Will Peartree.

There’s a post out today from Sapience explaining why the horse vendor was removed.

I’m sure many have already realized that there was an issue with Will Peartree that resulted in this festival vendor to be pulled from the game for a fix.

Yule is here and 2009 brings a brand new set of events and games to enjoy. This guide is here to help you discover all the fun to be had and help you get your seasonal goodies!

Tomorrow starts the new and improved Yule Festival and there is a brand new dev diary released today talking about the goodies we will find. I plan to write up a full guide on the events to be found once I’ve experienced them all for you to help you get things done. Today we get to simply bounce around in excitement over what is to come!

It seems there is a bit of questions concerning the changes happening to how you obtain festival mounts so I’ll do my best to spell it out and explain why I feel it is not such a big deal.

Turbine is having a stress test on the Bullroarer server on Tuesday November 17th. For us, it’s a chance to get a sneak peak of the skirmishes, mount system and legendary item updates we’re so eagerly awaiting!

A look at two posts by Turbine Developers from the last couple of days. One concerning a new feature of the Mount 2.0 system coming into place with Seige of Mirkwood, and another focused on Turbine’s effort to assist players attempting to get through Volume 1′s group-based content.

This guide is to assist with the general quests that appear with each festival in LOTRO. These quests are not really tied with a particular festival and are there just as little extras to pick up goodies for your character.
