CNN’s Geek Out blog has a new article out today called “The migratory patterns of MMO gamers”. In the article the author, Nikki Rau-Baker, talks about the pattern of MMO players to leave their game to try another game.

The other night (this past Tuesday, to be specific), Merric and I briefly discussed the new store armour. Today I decided to compare those to their crafted counterparts and was a little dismayed at what I found.

Recently in the podcast I have been discussing with Goldenstar how I can “shake up” my leveling pattern some by completing the Epic Storyline now that my Hunter is level 46.

I enjoy a good romp in a dungeon as much as the next person but I think everyone knows that it’s goofing off that I find to be what I enjoy most in game. As such I sit around thinking of things I wish LOTRO had that I currently can’t do to enhance my silly play-style.

What are you doing to prepare for Isengard? Are you stocking up on potions, finishing up on reputation or working through the Epic Storyline? Or maybe you’re just going through the game per norm? Whatever it is, we want to know!

The other day Goldenstar and I were bantering about the upcoming stat changes that are coming with Rise of Isengard and how they might affect existing systems within the game outside of what you’ll see on your character screen; as well as what choices you may make as a player.

Last Thursday we released an article on my own views as well as some of the Player Developers of Plugins about the state of Lua (and to some extent skinning) in LOTRO. Amazingly enough, we had two readers (thank you Garan and Rulez) point out that Narrel, the developer who headed the release of Lua at Turbine, posted on Friday for the first time in a long time about the actual state of Lua.

I’ve even seen some players encouraging Landroval RP community to leave en masse to Laurelin in order to take advantage of the RP enforcement there. I haven’t seen much about why a Roleplay Encouraged flag is actually better than a RP Enforced flag.

I am a lover and true fan-girl of LOTRO and their festival events. I look forward to the festival season as a much as I would a new dungeon or zone being launched. However, the anniversary events that were added yesterday have some glaringly obvious flaws that I’ve decided to skip them entirely.

Now that I have had a few weeks to digest the new content from Update 2, I feel comfortable in voicing my opinions on this update. I believe this is one of the better releases for LOTRO in quite some time.
